Katie is known for her steadfast authenticity, playful spirit, and nurturing energy. Her dream is to create a space of healing for people to experience connection with themselves, their family, and their community. She uses a strengths- and relationship-based approach to therapy, using interpersonal neurobiology concepts, somatic practices, an attachment lens, and curiosity to understand the reasons behind behavior. Katie lights up when working with parents and other helpers and healers.
In addition to being a facilitator of healing journeys, Katie is a proud mom of two sons and two bonus children. You can find her walking her dogs, listening to Taylor Swift, snuggling her cats, or reading historical fiction in warm sunshine. She lives with her family in Bloomington, Indiana.

A settler in so-called Bloomington, Indiana, Emily recognizes the Miami, Potawatomi, Shawnee, and Delaware peoples as the ancestral, present, and future caretakers of this land.
Emily is passionate about relationships and families, focusing on ways to improve relationships between teens and parents, collaborating with teens that get a bad rap, working with people in non-traditional and traditional relationship structures, and yielding space to anyone who has ever felt disenfranchised to speak, whisper, shout, or sing their experiences.
A Systemic Therapist, Emily infuses everything they do with the spirit of Narrative Therapy, a postmodern approach that focuses on the impact of our values on the stories we tell about our lives and experiences. Additionally, Emily is an EMDR trained clinician. Relationship work is guided by Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
Emily received a MS in the Human Development and Family Science Couple and Family Therapy program at North Dakota State University. Emily is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Indiana and Independent Marriage and Family Therapist in Ohio. Emily provides outpatient therapy services for individuals, families, and those in relationships. Emily primarily collaborates with teens, young adults, and adults of any age. Emily is trauma-informed and uses attachment theory as a lens through which to understand interpersonal needs.
In their free time, you can find Emily watching the crows, playing Pathfinder with Jess, and reading with their service dog / the Nurturing Connections' MCHA therapy dog Amina.
Emily is a COVID-conscious therapist. They will be wearing a KN95 to all in-person sessions. Masks and respirators are available to clients at the office.
A Carolina dog, Amina was adopted from the Bloomington Animal Shelter in 2017 and in 2019 became a Monroe County Humane Association Therapy Team along with her best human friend, Nurturing Connections therapist Emily Corturillo. Amina is happy and playful, and she also appreciates a good snuggle. She likes children as much as they like her and enjoys connection with people of all ages. When she's not at work, Amina enjoys goofing with her sister Sabina and emitting expressive sighs as she settles in for a good nap.
